DearMYRTLE (http://www.DearMyrtle.com) If Eastman is the granddaddy, MYRTLE is definitely the grandmamma. DearMyrtle.com, Your friend in genealogy, has been providing advice for family historians and genealogists since 1995. The purpose of her blog is to engage genealogists, both beginning and advanced, in a variety of conversations related to helping others get out of their genealogy ruts, hearing the success of others, and even learning about the latest software and trends in the industry. Myrt', the author of the blog, also published the popular The Everything Online Genealogy Book in Nov 2000.
24/7 Family History Circle (http://blogs.ancestry.com/circle/ ) is the latest incarnation of the popular family history newsletter produced by Juliana Smith for Ancestry.com. In addition to how-to articles by genealogy pros, the site features Juliana’s warmth and her passion for family history.
Genealogy Insider (http://blog.familytreemagazine.com/insider/) is written by Diane Haddad, Managing Editor of Family Tree Magazine. The blog features a variety of websites, resources, genealogy events, genealogical records, and much more.
Genea-Musings (http://www.geneamusings.com/) Genea-Musings is a great, down-to-earth blog filled with tips, news items, humor, society news, family history research, and even some family history stories. This blog comes straight from the mind of Randy Seaver, “a retired aerospace engineer, a genealogist, and a family guy.”
Ancestry Insider (http://ancestryinsider.blogspot.com/) – The author of this blog presents perspectives on Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org. His goal is to present, defend, and constructively criticize both of these sites. He ought to know—until recently he worked at Ancestry.com, before he made the switch to FamilySearch.
The footnoteMaven (http://www.footnotemaven.com) – This blog features scholarly genealogical pieces. On the site, you will also find the “Genealogy Bloggers Quilt,” which is a visual rendition of her blogroll containing blogs that she visits often and enjoys.
Family Matters (http://moultriecreek.us/family/) - The author of this blog focuses on technology support for family historians. This support ranges from knowing how to edit tags to sharing genealogical information. Other key topics include genealogy tools, collaboration, research, and more.
