Report on the 27th Annual IAJGS Conference This week WorldVitalRecords.com has been at the 27th Annual International Assocation of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) Conference, located in Salt Lake City in the Hilton Conference Center. This conference lasted from July 15-20 and has the record of being the “longest genealogy conference in America.” The conference featured more than 20 different subject areas with topics ranging from cemetery restoration in Eastern Europe to researching vital records in Poland. Many of the people traveled to Salt Lake City have took the opportunity to visit the Family History Library, which hosts the largest microfilm collection of Jewish records in the world. Llisten to Alexander Avraham, Yad Vashem, from Jerusalem, Israel, discuss the conference below. One of the conference attendees discussed his highlights of the conference: “One of the highlights for me is meeting people who are researching the same area and also meeting people whom I have been emailing, and now have a face to go with the name. To show that my money is well worth it, I have also enjoyed talking with the vendors and looking at new products,” said Joel Sisitsky, Boca Raton, Fl.
