Department of Defense. Department of the Army. The Adjutant General's Office. Casualty and Memorial Affairs Directorate. Casualty Services Division. Record Group 407: Records of the Adjutant General's Office Access Restrictions: Restricted - Partly. FOIA (b)(6) Personal Information. This series consists of one partially restricted file. NARA created a public use version of this file. That version masks the name of casualty and Social Security or Service Number in records of nonfatal casualties and the Social Security Number in records of all dependents. General Note: The records contain errors and inconsistencies. For all Army casualties who died in Southeast Asia, the series "Records on Military Personnel who Died, were Missing in Action or Prisoners of War as a Result of the Vietnam Conflict, 1956-1998" can be used to corroborate these records. The Adjutant General referred to these records as the Casualty Information System (CIS).
